About Me
I’m a Master of Science (Tech) and senior mechanical engineer with over 15 years of experience delivering demanding product development projects across multiple industries and customer organisations.
My work combines deep technical understanding with practical problem-solving and hands-on design. I enjoy tackling complex challenges — mechanical, structural, or system-level — and shaping them into robust, manufacturable solutions that meet both engineering and real-world requirements.
I approach engineering with a balance of logic, structure, and intuition. In addition to rational analysis, I practise intelligent intuition and creativity — the ability to recognise patterns, connect ideas, and see new possibilities before they take shape. This mix of technical rigour and imagination often leads to elegant, original outcomes.
I’m calm under pressure and thrive in environments where focus, precision, and collaboration matter. Tight deadlines, complex systems, or unexpected changes don’t unsettle me — they sharpen my thinking. I believe in open communication, trust, and maintaining momentum even when projects evolve rapidly.
I take responsibility from concept to implementation, whether leading mechanical design, coordinating cross-disciplinary work, or ensuring compliance with standards and safety regulations. My mindset is reliability first — but always with curiosity and a drive to improve how things are done.
Fluent in Finnish and English. Naturally calm and encouraging, I value teamwork, clarity, and humour — and I believe the best results come from a motivated, supportive group of people solving real problems together.
Reference Projects
Valtion Rautatiet (VR) – Acting Chief Engineer & Senior Development Engineer (2025–Present)
- Currently leading subsystem development for a one-of-a-kind heavy freight railcar — the first of its type ever to operate on Finnish rails.
- Acting in dual roles as Chief Engineer and Senior Development Engineer, responsible for both detailed design and overall system coordination.
- Rapidly oriented to the project and customer’s systems in only 1.5 weeks, integrating into an ongoing R&D programme and taking full ownership of the pneumatic braking system.
- The project has evolved into a unique, high-profile R&D effort with numerous technical and logistical challenges that my team and I are proactively overcoming through collaboration, persistence, and creative engineering.
- The work continues toward a fully functional prototype — a milestone that will represent a major step forward in Finnish freight rail innovation.
Viessmann, Schaeffler & VR – Senior Development Engineer (2024–2025)
- Developed advanced mechanical solutions for clients including Viessmann, Schaeffler, and VR.
- Designed a complete restaurant waste management system for Viessmann.
- Delivered AM-based mechanical designs and analysis for Schaeffler’s R&D projects.
Sandvik – Senior Development Engineer (2015–2024)
- Long-term mechanical engineering and product development in underground mining equipment projects.
- Took gladly large technical responsibilities, such as leading the design of drilling module units and critical subsystems.
- Delegated design tasks to junior engineers, reviewed their work, and checked and approved final drawings.
- Worked almost two years fully remotely with Sandvik Austria, designing a potash-mine rail car and a festoon system for cable management — proving the ability to lead complex design work independently while maintaining seamless international cooperation.
- Key involvement in concept design, R&D, prototype builds, and mechanical systems integration.
- Worked on drilling module units and mechanical cutting technologies, ensuring cost-effective and reliable designs.
- Promoted positive team culture and effective international collaboration.
AGCO / Konecranes – Lead Engineer (2014–2015)
- Led a cross-cultural project localising a harbour-crane power unit for the East Asian market.
- Responsible for design leadership, task delegation, and strategic decision-making under tight schedules.
- Delivered a cost-effective, high-quality product with excellent customer feedback.
Metso – Senior Design Engineer (2012–2014)
- Co-designed one of the world’s largest mobile crushers (LT200 Altay).
- Handled complex design challenges related to mobility, reliability, and durability in extreme mining environments.
Valmet – Design Engineer (2010–2012)
- Designed piping and steel structures for CFB boiler and waste-to-energy plants.
- Responsible for layout areas and customer coordination to ensure accurate and safe designs.
- Proactively took on additional responsibilities as an informal team leader, as I was among the few proficient in 3D CAD and capable of guiding others through the transition from 2D workflows.
Metso Minerals Oy – Engineer in Training (2008–2009)
- Completed master’s thesis on an innovative hydraulic valve using digital-hydraulics technology.
